Headline to Hot Springs? Here's some music choices

David  Hughes in the Spa City offers a few live music tips for those hitting the town tonight. Looks like a typical hot night offer there:

Maxine’s has got a great line up happening. The Sara Hughes Band will be playing tonight. Sara Hughes has been recognized as one of the top performers in Northwest Arkansas for the last couple of years. Saturday Filthy Richard will rock Maxine’s with special guests Contraband. This should be a pair of great shows. And don’t forget…Maxine’s hosts an open blues jam on Wednesdays with the Spa City Blues Society and an open acoustic jam every Thursday.

The Big Chill plays host to the Pierson Waters Project Friday and Saturday. PWP is Grant Pierson and Dayton Waters. Pierson and Waters musical styles complement each other perfectly. This duo always throws out a great show. The Big Chill also hosts an jam on Tuesdays and you can catch Ashley Blanton every Thursday.

Capone’s is the new kid on the block. They are located in the old Ohio Club. Tony and Cassie are doing a great job with the place too. It’s a casual and relaxing atmosphere. They are offering up some pretty good music from some of the local talent. The last time I checked Tony Nardi was set to play this weekend at Capone’s. They are offering up music on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Check’em out.

The Long Shot Saloon checks in every Sunday evening with Danny Smith and the Shuffle Kings.

Terry Martin and guests play every weekend at Terry Martin’s Lounge. Terry’s place is pretty nice if you’ve never been in. He’s got a great club complete with a cool game room off to the side.

Lots of other clubs around town will be having music including Lucky’s, Smyly’s, Boogie’s and Kat’s. Check’em out…there should be something for everyone’s taste.

Be sure to tune in to 101.9 fm The Rocket this Sunday at 6 p.m. The Unknown Legends Radio Show is back baby! This week’s show will feature music from Brian Martin & Greg Batterton, Possum Williams, The Michael Shipp Excursion, Dayton Waters, The Hump Night Blues Band and the Cate Brothers. Special guest David Ball will be performing live in the studio. Tune in for an hour of great local music.
