Shocked! As in, Michelle Shocked is coming to LR Folk Club

I know there are plenty of great artists who fly under the usual Little Rock music fan's radar who show up to play the Little Rock Folk Club. But I about fell out of my chair when Len Holton called today to tell me that Michelle Shocked, the Texas-based singer-songwriter-rocker would be playing here Feb. 23 for the club. She's doing an acoustic solo tour. I hope she can still find a place in the set for "Come a Long Way." I heard that and immediately became a Shocked fan, and I know I was late to the party compared to a lot of friends and fellow Shocked followers. But, anyway, she's great. She also turns 45 the night of the show here. It will be held at Thomson Hall at the Unitarian Univeralist Church, 1818 Reservoir Road.

That same night, the Revolution Room has Jonathan Richmond in town. Feb. 23, mark it down, a big night for music in Little Rock.
