Former Magic 105 jock Michael P has passed

The "Pontiff of Rock 'n' Roll," Michael P. Langley, who worked at Magic 105 for many years, died last night at his home in Louisiana. He was 51. We're told heart attack was the cause of death.

Langley and many other veterans of 105 were let go a few years back when Clear Channel took over the station. But longtime listeners certainly remember the Pontiff, who for a while did the news on Tommy Smith's Rock-and-Roll Breakfast show on 105, and he also worked part-time at Bill's Pet Store. Later, he spun records simply as Michael P. on oldies Kool 95 (now the Hallelujah gospel channel).

Comments

God Bless Michael P and my thoughts are with his family.
Thanks for spreading the joy Pontiff! You will be missed and remembered.

Michael was a nice guy and the perfect straight-man for Tommy in those days.

I worked for Michael for many years at Magic 105. We were a family and I feel that profound loss today. Godspeed Pontiff!

Ahhh man...

Bummer, indeed...
