Don't forget to 'pub of PERISH"
A-Times reporter David Koon is the organizer for the fourth "Pub or Perish," a great way to spend some time with some of the authors visiting our fair city this weekend for the Arkansas Literary Festival. It will run from 7 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Saturday in the Arkansas Ballroom of the Peabody -- not much of a pub, mind you, but there will be a cash bar to imbibe. I pass along some words from David on the event:
A last minute plea for you and yours to come on out to Pub or Perish, the fourth-annual readings sponsored by the Arkansas Times — tomorrow night from 7 to 9:15 p.m. in the Arkansas Ballroom of the Peabody Hotel.
On hand will be the not-so-usual suspects: a bunch of Arkansas Literary Festival authors and local Little Rock writers so talented that you're guaranteed to cry, think and laugh until gin shoots out of your nose (ouch!) We'll have a cash bar on hand, but tell all your friends and no-good relatives that the drinks are free so they'll show up.
The room we're in this year is a cavern, so we're going to need all the help we can get. If you're out and about tomorrow night, be there or be square. I'll appreciate it, and I can almost promise it'll mean you won't be reincarnated as one of those beetles whose sole purpose in life is to push around a big ball of elephant shit. See you there!
