Nu closing temporarily, Novicky leaving

We have it on good authority that not only is Paul Novicky leaving Nu Cuisine Lounge as executive chef, he's planning to buy Continental Cuisine from Paul Bash and Ed Moore. Continental Cuisine owns the Purple Cow franchise.

So, Novicky is going from creating some of the fanciest entrees in town to making milkshakes and flipping burgers, albeit some of the Cow's great burgers are of the "gourmet" variety.

A press release put out today by StoneWard, which shares the building at 225 East Markham with Nu, says that the restaurant will close on May 4 and beginning reconfiguring its setup for a whole new Nu.

Funny, you might have seen the Insider in the print edition a few weeks back where we asked co-owner Rebekah Harding about rumors that Novicky was leaving and Nu was changing, and she said she knew nothing about Paul ldeparting and that it was "business as usual" at Nu. Novicky at the time told us it wasn't the time to discuss if he was actually leaving. Guess now's the time.
