Panic set for the amphitheater July 10

The annoucement came out of Alltel Arena's marketing office that Widespread Panic is returning to the city: to the Riverfest Amphitheater on July 10.

That tells us a lot. One, it looks like Alltel Arena and the City of Little Rock are going to be running this show with Alltel's security and stage people, and Michael Marion overseeing it all. There had been much up in the air about the amphitheater and whether it would be used this summer after going the past three years with less than a handful of smallish shows.

Alltel Arena handled the security and ancilliary aspect of the Al Green concert last October at the amphitheater for the City.

Maybe there are more good amphitheater shows in the offing now?
