Silly money

This kid from Russellville won $25,000 earlier this spring for this video.

The backstory: In 2004, Gary Brolsma put a webcam in front of his computer and lip synched to an obscure Romanian pop song, "Numa Numa." Somehow Brolsma turned that window of web fame into something sustaining, and together with an Internet sponsor launched a contest to come up with a video to accompany a new “Numa” song. Keith Eddy, a rising sophomore at UAF, put together this winning entry in about a month and a half. Clearly, it owes a stylistic debt to Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” video. It's technically impressive, but still pretty baffling. Gives hope to everyone (ahem) who still thinks there's money to be made on the web via bullshit.
