Chow Nasty: Winning Hearts and Minds

At 5 p.m. this evening young Democrats will get all hot and sweaty rubbing elbows with Hillary at the zoo (the event's supposed to be in the cafe, but we're wagering on spillover onto the pavement and to the seal pool and lion cage), and then they'll hop over to Cajun's to get hot and nastier with Chow Nasty, the self-described "electro-sexual trio" from San Francisco. Which means they play feverish punk-funk, talk about "lube" a lot and have songs with names like "Hot Sticky Nikki." Peanut Butter Wolf, Stones Throw Records head honcho, produced the band's latest, "Super Electric Recordings," and they've performed with folks like Chromeo, Eagles of Death Metal and Morris Day and the Time. Should be an early-times get-down. 8 p.m., Cajun's. FREE

A hint of what's to come with the video for "Ungawa" after the jump.

As Judge Wendell Griffen says, courage is not a vice (though critics seem to fault him for having it) but a virtue. /more/
