Tonight

Ninjas, listen up: St. Louis power-pop band Ludo makes a stop in Little Rock at Juanita's tonight. Formed four years ago by singer-guitarist Andrew Volpe and guitarist Tim Ferrell, the band got its name from the giant Muppet in the movie “Labyrinth.” Later expanding to a five-piece group and winning contests to appear at SXSW, have a video produced by MTV-like Fuse, play the Winter X Games and perform on the Warped Tour, the band recently recorded their second full-length album “You're Awful, I Love You,” out now on Island Records. Known for their rambunctious — often themed — live shows, they're throwing a luau on Thursday night and welcome audience members and fans (who call themselves "ninjas") to dress up in grass skirts and leis. 9 p.m. $7.

If Ludo or luaus aren't your thing: Local indie rock band Big Boots led by ex-Sugar and the Raw-er Mason Mauldin plays Vino's tonight. Opening the show is instrumental act Mammoth Orange, made up of a handful of former Tin Fire Radio rockers. Yep Roc's The Moaners, a female rock duo from Chapel Hill, also perform. 8:30 p.m. $6.

At White Water Tavern, Lubbock's Thrift Store Cowboys. Listen to the alt-country band's wide-open, country western-tinged "Dirtied Your Knees" here. 9 p.m. $5.
