American Princes new record out in February

The American Princes fourth record is in the can. Tentatively titled “Other People,” the new album is set for a February release on Yep Roc Records. Chuck Brody, a musician and producer who’s worked with artists like Peter, Bjorn and John and the Wu-Tang Clan, handpicked the band to produce after last year’s CMJ Festival in New York.

You get the sense the guys are pretty pumped about the new record. In June, David Slade posted this bulletin on MySpace. At 2 a.m., while hammered. "We've made (or are still making, truthfully) the album of our lives. Honestly. I emerged from the womb pretty much to do this."

And early word from friends of the Princes who've heard advance mixes usually include f'ing and lots of superlatives. So look out.

After a big show on Sept. 28 at Juanita’s, with J. Roddy Walston and the Business and the Good Fear, and a concert in Fayetteville the next night, the band will head out for a fall tour through the East Coast and Midwest.
