Thursday To-Do: Shinobu and I Sing the Body Electric

SHINOBU & I SING THE BODY ELECTRIC
9:30 p.m., White Water Tavern. $3.

Shinobu come from San Jose and play smart, often frantic indie rock that's reminiscent of a lot of the best indie bands from the 90s—Pixies, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr. Video and mp3 here.

I Sing the Body Electric, also from San Jose, is a one-man band, does a more subdued singer/songwriter thing, but with lots of distortion effects and loops to muddy things up. Sounds pretty solid.

As Judge Wendell Griffen says, courage is not a vice (though critics seem to fault him for having it) but a virtue. /more/
