Synopsis: I visited this place 2 years ago. My, oh my, how things have changed. No need to bring your own boos to this party. While it was ok in ’05, the fifth installment of the Haunted Hotel is downright scary. Let me put it this way: If I had a young daughter, I would not take her to this one. But I don’t, so I’d recommend it to anyone. Their building is not great, but that’s the only thing I can criticize. What is great is the way they keep the action going throughout. The frights are intense, the characters are plentiful and the screams are enough to put three grown men to the ground (yes, this happened right in front of me). Scenes from popular horror flicks are recreated as well — an added bonus for movie buffs. And if seeing a woman in a wedding dress is already scary, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Final Thoughts: As I was leaving, I was told that Halloween night would be even scarier. I’m not sure if they can pull that off, but I sure do want to see them try. If you were to put these actors in a venue like the Haunted Cathedral, you’d have the scariest haunted house in the state. As it is, you’ll still find some of the best scares in the 501 at the Haunted Hotel. Enjoy your stay…
