Wednesday To-Do: !!! + The Field

Four or five years ago, Out Hud came to White Water. This was before MySpace and before anyone really wrote about White Water much. Through mostly word of mouth, hundreds of young folk packed the tavern to a degree unseen until Chris Denny's recent fire-hazard CD release. It was a riotously awesome show. People sweated through their clothes. Clothes came off. The dance-impaired found their way. I can't think of a show I've enjoyed more in my half decade here.

Out Hud broke up last year, but lead-singer Nic Offer soldiers on OH's sister band, !!! (chk chk chk), who've improbably become one of dance music's biggest names. Tonight, the eight-piece is at Revolution. John Pugh, in the pink shirt, is a native Little Rocker. You can find him all up on the Towncraft site. That's also him singing the impossibly high hook on "Heart of Hearts" and in the black leather vest on the voodoo orgy video for "Must Be the Moon."

Longtime scenesters will remember !!! shows way back when at the Belvedere. But since they've blown up, they haven't been to Little Rock in six years. SO: the kids will be out full force, hopefully ready to get sweaty.

Before all that, local DJ collective Beeping Slag puts it down along with critically adored minimal house DJ the Field, from the Kompkat label.

9 p.m., $15.
