Afternoon killer: Ffffound

I spent two eye-searing hours browsing through Ffffound last night. I couldn't quit. It's a new photo site that marries Flickr with the user feedback model that powers sites like del.icio.us., Pandora and Amazon recommends.

Ffffound is still in beta testing, so you can't join and create your own personalized image feed yet, but you can follow the rabbit holes that are already out there. For instance, last night, I clicked on the time-elapse airport picture above and got sent to a page with thumbnails of the overhead beach shot and a dozen others. Every time you click on a picture, a new set of thumbnails comes up. On and on and on. Especially, once the site goes live and millions join.

Now, Ffffound's a mishmash of pop art—old pictures of Mexican wrestlers, graphic design, architectural photos from China, post-punk album covers, lots of typography and quite a few arty boob shots (must be a lot of dude beta testers.)
