Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase Rd. 1: The Running Back

The Running Back

Background: Lead singer/guitarist Alan Thomas formed the band in high school with his friend Jeffrey Humble, who plays pedal steel and "other off the wall" instruments. As students in Ouachita, they added players — Craig on guitar, Landon on bass and Vince on drums.

Sound like: Dreamy indie-pop. Music for the hoodie set to think about girls and boys to.

Where you'll find them: Coffeehouses and on campus. In the past, Juanita's once with the Damn Bullets and Rock 'n' Roar at the zoo opening for the Boondogs.

You can't say we discriminate: The Running Back have a "I Like Mike," button in support of Ouachita's most famous alum, on their MySpace.

Music:

"What We've Become"

"Everything Really Just Stays the Same"

Comments

If Zach Braff hears these guys, he'll put them on his next movie soundtrack. Sounds a lot like the stuff he goes for in his movies.
