Monday To-Do: Thick Syrup presents



A few weeks before they compete in the Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase, last year's runner's up the Damn Bullets headline what you should just go ahead and block off your calendar weekly for, Thick Syrup Mondays at Sticky Fingerz. Plus, former Tin Fire Radio crooner Justin Carr leads Ghost Co., a performance group that apparently involves dancing girls, the Damn Bullets and songs about people who died young. Alright. Cheap drinks.

Arkansas members of Congress, especially Rep. Mike Ross, continue to benefit from fund-raisers where corporate lobbyists are either the hosts or main guests, illustrating one of the many sides of the lawmaker-lobbyist relationship that the public knows little about. /more/

President Obama has not yet learned this important lesson, to the detriment of his presidency and the nation. Gov. Mike Beebe, a more experienced lawmaker, has it down. /more/
