How bout some branding

Starting next week Jan. 14, Thick Syrup Records head honcho Travis McElroy begins booking and hosting Mondays at Sticky Fingerz. He's kicking things off with Smoke Up Johnny, the Moving Front and David Slade and Matt Quinn from the American Princes.

Theme nights are all the rage these days. The Village has lately gotten acronym happy. M.I.L.F. (music is live Fridays). S.L.A.M. (Saturday live Arkansas metal). Casey Jones, of H.F.U.!, has been talking about partnering with Downtown Music to do Thirsty Thursdays. Revolution has its regular Zodiac electronic music series and a monthly "New Music Test." And, of course, cheap beer, no cover and local music continues to remain a staple at White Water on Tuesday nights.

Future Thick Syrup Monday's will feature the Easys and San Antokyo.

Comments

I think the Thick Syrup thing is Mon 1/14, not next week, so we'll have to keep them pancakes warm for just a little bit longer.
