Tuesday To-Do: Hackensaw Boys

HACKENSAW BOYS
8 p.m., Revolution. $10

Charlottesville's favorite unwashed sons the Hackensaw Boys slide into Revolution tonight. It was a last minute booking for Revolution's Chris King. In the wild and wooly old-time country revival, it doesn't get any better than the Hackensaw Boys.  Their kinetic vocals have an auctioneer-wackiness to them. They feature all your favorite string instruments, plus a Charismo, a homemade washboard-type device worn like a breastplate and scratched with Wolverine claws.
