The American Princes on a show you didn't know existed on a network you didn't know existed

So I was wrong. Or Collins was wrong. "Real Love" has not been added to MTVu.

It's been added to a show on MTVu  called "The Freshmen" where four hipsters debate the merits of five music videos and viewers at home vote online for a favorite. The winner is then added to the rotation.

So because you love Arkansas want to see one of our own make it on a network that only the premium cable subscribers among us have ever heard of, go here and vote for the Princes and then when the button flashes up again and says "vote again," well, you may as well punch it a couple more times. The Princes are currently in 2nd. Voting ends on Friday.

If you're bored, watch said hipsters debate the merits of the video and song here. Skip forward to part seven.

It's fairly painful. Here's a summary:

Striped cardigan, smiles like he's just scored Collin Meloy tickets, and proclaims it the best of the five.
Kim the VJ host with the outlaw scarf is incredulous and non-plussed. "Really? I thought it was OK."
Striped cardigan pshaws. "What was better?"
Kim the outlaw grows sour. "I'd have to think about that for a minute, but I just really wasn't that enthralled with it and [disgusted face] didn't really like the video very much."
Striped cardigan sticks to his guns and ups the rhetoric. "I thought the video was interesting. I mean—"
Sourness no longer captures Kim the outlaw's antipathy to American Princes, striped cardigan and the panel in general. "We get it, you're like indie and you like DIY. Cool [meaning not cool]."
Amy Winehouse hair comes to the rescue. "I love bands that don't take themselves way too seriously and they didn't."

Tedious talk about how homemade videos are not innovative, but they can be.
The wrap-up: Score two tastemaker picks from striped cardigan and Amy Winehouse hair.

Yes!
