Bodied

The Mid-America Science Museum, in Hot Springs, will host "Our Body: The Universe Within" from June 14-Sept. 28.

This is a take-off on the Body World exhibit that's been such a worldwide phenomenon and source of scandal. The cadavers on display are preserved by a process called polymer impregnation, where tissue is permanently preserved using liquid silicone. Sounds like plastination

Thousands will flock.

Comments

I've been at the Philadelphia showcase.

I can't imagine how much Mid-America will have to trim off the original Body Works exhibit. I remember its Star Wars exhibit was paltry and disappointing: cardboard cutouts to "recreate" the hallways of the starships, one model ship, and some Star Wars documentary playing on some TVs.

But hey, Hot Springs is a small city, and considering the podunk location of the museum on the outskirts of nowhere, it's doing quite well.
