A new, or at least new-ish, incarnation of local power-pop champs the Evelyns headline Thick Syrup Mondays at Sticky Fingerz, with a new band, Frown Pow'r, unveiling weirdo lo-fi garage sounds, 10 p.m., $3 I think.
Sonny Burgess, the legendary Sun Studios rockabilly hero ("Red Headed Woman") from Newport, plays an unlikely gig at the Esther D. Nixon Library, 6 p.m., free.
And, as usual, it's Monday night jazz jam at the Afterthought, 8 p.m., $5.
