Arkansas Film Series brewing
The Little Rock Film Commission is teaming with Market Street Cinema to launch an Arkansas Film Series at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at Market Street. British actor Stuart Wilson (“The Age of Innocence,” “Hot Fuzz,” “Lethal Weapon 3”) will screen “The Mask of Zorro,” in which he stars as the villain, Don Rafael Monero. Wilson, who recently moved to Little Rock with his wife, Arkansas native Courtney Pledger, will participate in a post-screening Q&A moderated by Arkansas Film Commissioner Chris Crane and the Little Rock Film Commission’s Gary Newton.Newton mentions Mary Steenburgen’s “End of the Line”; “Face the Crowd,” which was filmed in Piggott, “The Blue and the Gray,” 1929's "Hallelujah," one of the first Hollywood films featuring an all African-American cast; Billy Bob Thornton's "Daddy and Them" and Roger Corman’s “Bloody Mama,” which was filmed near Mountain Home, as potential future features.
Newton says that, like the Clinton School, invitations have been extended to affiliates. When future events happen are up to their availability.
