The Weekend: Thunder from Down Under, Damn Bullets, Kevin Kerby, 'Fall for Ballet'

FRIDAY 11/21

Beefcakes from Australia make the ladies go crazy at “Thunder from Down Under,” the Village, 8 p.m., $15 adv., $20 d.o.s.

After months (weeks?) in parts unknown, gold-throated folk singer Chris Denny returns home to play a gig with sonic brethren the Damn Bullets at Sticky Fingerz, 9 p.m., $6.

At White Water, one of Little Rock's finest singer/songwriters, Kevin Kerby, plays with his band Battery. Oklahoma singer/songwriter Travis Linville opens the gig, 10 p.m., $5.

The CD release parties may be over, but the steady-giggin'est trio in town continues: the Ted Ludwig Jazz Trio plays the Capital Bar and Grill, 8 p.m., free.

There's a reggae bash at Juanita's, hosted by local genre advocate Ras Levi, 10 p.m., $10.

At Vino's, two-heart-on-their-sleeve singer/songwriters, Mat Mahar and Sean Michel, headline an all-ages show, 9 p.m., $6.

Donna Massey & Blue Eyed Soul play songs you know at the Afterthought, 9 p.m., $7.

Old-time rock 'n' rollers Mojo Depot headlines at Cajun's, 9 p.m., $5.

SATURDAY 11/22

The Arkansas Festival Ballet returns to Wildwood for the first of two performances of “Fall for Ballet,” a mixed bill that includes “Les Patineurs (The Ice Skaters)” and several new works, 7:30 p.m., $15-$25 (also Sunday at 2 p.m.).

Bouncy North Little Rock pop-rockers Riverboat Crime come to White Water, 10 p.m., $5.

At Discovery, Justin Sane and Moongod are in the club, while Balance holds it down in the lobby, midnight, $10.

At the Afterthought, soul jazz standouts Ramona Smith and Carl Mouton perform, 9 p.m., $7.

Local funk-rockers Chillyrose play Vino's, 8:30 p.m., $7.
