This afternoon, UGK's Bun B gives a free concert in the Park Plaza parking lot, 1:30 p.m.

It's a strong night of local rock of all stripes at the ACAC space, with Magic Hassle, Josh the Devil's new band Rock Thirty, the Weisenheimers and Drunken Angels, 9 p.m., $5.

Fayetteville rocker Benjamin Del Shreve returns to Sticky Fingerz with folk party act the Ben Miller Band, from Joplin, Mo., 9 p.m., $6.

At Studio Joe, well-regarded local singer/songwriter Amy Garland performs, 8 p.m., $5.

One of Central Arkansas's most prolific performers, Big John Miller, leads his band through soul classics at the Afterthought, 9 p.m., $7.

This month's edition of Revolution's Girls Night Out party is Caribbean themed; DJs Max and Ewell provide the soundtrack, 8 p.m., ladies free, $10 for dudes before 10:30 p.m.

Former Cooper's Orbit front man Chris Henry performs an acoustic show at Ya Ya's, 8 p.m., free.

Fayetteville folk-rocker Sarah Hughes returns to White Water with country-tinged jam rockers Bent Grass Green playing in support, 9 p.m., $5.

At Midtown, Conway singer/songwriter Mat Mahar performs, 12:30 a.m., $5.

The Travs begin a home stand that lasts through next Thursday, 7:10 p.m., $6-$10.

SATURDAY 7/25

At Midtown, the country-rockin' Pope County Bootleggers play late night, 12:30 a.m., $5.

Birmingham's Vulture Whale has drawn comparisons to Kings of Leon; they share a bill at White Water with Fayetteville's Hot Shot Karate, 9 p.m., $5.

At Sticky Fingerz, Wrong Way serves tribute to reggae rock heroes Sublime, 9 p.m., $6.

The Afterthought hosts local reggae musicians and offers rum specials at its appropriately named Reggae and Rum Party, 9 p.m., $7.

Local alt-rockers SufferKate celebrate the release of a new CD with a concert at Downtown Music that also features Finding Jimmy Hoffa, Land of Mines and Grayskale, 8 p.m., $6.

In Hot Springs, two of Little Rock's finest young bands, Frown Pow'r and the See, share a bill at Maxine's, 9 p.m., $5.

At Discovery, Michael Shane mans the disco, while Balance holds it down in the lobby, midnight, $10.
