Jay Russell gets "Sole"



The North Little Rock born director ("My Dog Skip," "The Water Horse") has signed on to direct "Whole Lotta Sole," a new comedy starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Kevin Bacon. Rhys Meyers stars as a thief who tries to rob a fish market and takes Bacon's character hostage in the process.

"Hotel Rwanda" screenwriter Terry George co-wrote the screenplay.

The film will shoot in Belfast in 2010.

Shortly after the lottery launched in September 2009, the Times reported that the lottery commission would roll out ticket vending machines in the spring. There's no sign of them yet, but some legislators hope to ban the machines, saying they make it too easy for children to buy tickets. /more/
