Charlaine Harris, the author of the massively popular Sookie Stackhouse novels that provide the inspiration for HBO's "True Blood," offers the Central Arkansas Library's Darragh Distinguished Lecture at UALR's University Theatre at 6:30 p.m., free. Bring your fangs.

It's a night of good time rock 'n' roll at Sticky Fingerz with Dallas' Jonathan Tyler and Northern Lights and Tulsa's the Effects, both of which seem to be steadily rising nationally, and former Getty lead singer Matt Joyce's new band Nevertrain, 9 p.m., $5.

Velvet Kente's joshua is solo at White Water, 9 p.m., $5.

Local singer/songwriter Jonathan Wilkins performs at the Town Pump, which has begun to host live music occasionally, 9 p.m., free.

At Revolution, Fayetteville post-grunge act Silverstone shares a bill with Wishtribe and Inner City Lights, 9 p.m., $5.

The Rex Bell Trio headlines jazz night at the Afterthought, 8 p.m., free.

From Philly, Grandchildren blend acoustic instruments with electric effects at Maxine's in Hot Springs, 9 p.m., $5.

“Follie Holidays,” the Rep's annual young performer's showcase, enters its last weekend, 7 p.m., $15-20.
