Can you imagine life with dial-up internet?

The city of Colt (evidently its near Forrest City) is seeking a grant to bring hi-speed internet to their community.  CAN YOU IMAGINE?  Some day we will joke about how slow hi-speed is now.  I don't even want to remember dial-up.

Comments

I always thought rural Arkansas communities might co-opt with each other to get high speed internet access like they did in the "old" days with electricty and phone service.

The co-op model seems to work well for rural and scattered areas.

I live outside of Fayetteville and DSL just became avaliable 2 months ago where I live. I still have only dial up at my place in Benton co. My ex lives in Dallas, TX and can't get DSL in the east Dallas area where he lives.
