Clark Cty Quorum Court seeking a sales tax

The tax would be for one cent and sunset in five years.  Half of the tax would go to fund a new jail.  A quarter cent would go toward "economic development".  And the remaining quarter cent would go to the various Clark Cty municipalities.  As I've posted before, Clark Cty is in the process of holding meetings to create a comprehensive plan for their future.  The article doesn't elaborate on how the quarter cent would be used for economic development but I would venture to guess that it would become a part of that larger discussion.  Often what happens is the money is put into a war chest for creating incentives for prospective industry.  Other times the money is used to develop industrial property that can be marketed to industry.  I'd certainly like to hear what Clark Cty has in mind.  If you know anything more, please send it along.
