Train collision death

As a youth, I went to too many funerals for friends and community members who were struck by trains at unguarded crossings.  Here is an example of just such an accident.  If we can put a man on the moon, we can put crossing arms and lights at every crossing in our state.  The answer is not closing all private crossings--as the Railroad would like to see happen.

It's hard to believe how many people have been killed over the years in our small town....some of them dear friends and relatives....many of them under the age of 20. I think about how, growing up, we had at least one teenager a year killed by a train. Of course, Walnut Ridge/Hoxie has trains running through every 5 to 10 minutes....
