Arkadelphia Wet?

In a year-end news roundup, Arkadelphia's Siftings Herald makes mention of an effort in Clark County to gather the 5000+ signatures necessary to put the wet/dry question to the voters.  They failed but can you imagine?  Henderson and Ouchiata Baptist would flip their wigs if Clark County were to become wet.  Wow!

Comments

I think Henderson president Charles Dunn publicly supported the effort to go wet.

Conversely, I get the feeling from UCA president Lu Hardin and Hendrix president TImothy Cloyd that they would love it if Faulkner Co. was wet. Lu is already shutting down the street adjacent to the football stadium on game days, and people are having tailgate parties that rival those in Fayetteville. The booze flows free. On the Hendrix side, a wet county might mean a more cultured county -- and Hendrix-types love culture (of course, they love drinking as much as the next person; I know, I was a Hendrix-type once :)
