Family Friend Injured in Iraq

Reddi Parker, Austin Phillips, and Telly Lawson

Reddi Parker was recently injured in Iraq by a rocket propelled grenade.  He's my brother Ethan's age and in high school was a constant fixture in my family's home.  Thankfully his injuries are not life-threatening; he may, however, be forced to choose between keeping his foot with limited use and having it removed in lieu of a prosthetic. The article in this week's Times Dispatch reports that Reddi was so concerned about his ability to continue to serve in the military that he signed his reenlistment papers in Iraq the night before he was flown to Germany for treatment of his injuries.  God Bless Reddi Parker.
