The last chemo treatment - wow
Five months after that first awful diagnoses of Breast cancer, Tracy finished her chemo treatments yesterday. Before she was ready to leave, the staff circled her and gave her a round of applause, like they do with everyone who reaches the end of the chemo road.
It has been a hard few months for Tracy, between the cancer and taking care of her mother as she was dying. I have watched as she struggled through the pain, the depression and the grief. Many times (as with so many spouses) I wished I could take some of the pain on myself, to relieve her of some of the burden.
Soon we will begin the radiation treatments.
But today, we are through with chemo. What a beautiful day it is today.
