KNWA - renting out the news?

Is KNWA renting out part of their news broadcast to Celebrate magazine?

How else to explain that nervous looking young woman who takes over part of the nightly newscast and banters with the anchors, as she tells an excited world what is coming our way, plugging the magazine in the process.

It all seems sort of tacky.

What is that all about? Do they just run out of news at a certain point and decide to put the Celebrate woman on? Or are they selling part of their newscast?

Can other magazines buy a minute or so of the news?

That magazine is really awful. The word Babbitry comes to mind.
