Wake me up when it's Election Day
Watching primary results come in can be a frustrating experience, especially when you watch TV pundits trying to fill dead-air. That’s why you get so many film and literary references; they are desperately trying to keep the conversation rolling.
We finally switched on “Jericho” at 9pm, and watched results on commercial breaks. Same thing with “The Daily Show.”
I still think Huckabee was only in this race hoping that come summer he might be the GOP pick for vice president.

I can’t take sides, but . . .
On a local note, Lioneld Jordan will officially “come out” as a mayoral candidate this Sunday, March 9 at 2pm on the Fayetteville Square. Many hope that Jordan will focus on issues that other office seekers just never seem to notice.
Hey, if he never promises to “Keep Fayetteville Funky,” he’s got my vote!
On a more serious note, a lot of working class folk are excited by Jordan’s candidacy. Let’s see if the other candidates try to appeal to them, or will continue down the tried and true path of ignoring working class issues in Fayetteville.

No, really, that train left the station a whole long time ago
I see the “Keep Fayetteville Funky” bumper stickers, and I think, “Dude, where have you been?”

Cool Website of the Week
C.F. Roberts, a talented Fayetteville writer who also produces “Abbey of the Lemur” on Community Access Television,” has a neat website about the show - and his own personal preferences - at:

Will I blog while I'm gone, or won't I? And do you care?
Tracy has conference in Miami, Florida, for the weekend, and I am tagging along for the ride.
Maybe I’ll meet Dexter?
In a sort of “Keep up the good work,‘ kind of way - not the “I know what you’ve gotten away with, Drake,” kind of way.”

I think "funky" left Fayettville when the Dickson St. Burger King was replaced with Walton Arts.

Wasn't that the old Burger Chef that had a franchise on Dickson. Then it was Mountain Man Pawn. Next door was the Ken's Pizza (with the yellow crust) that became the Bull's Eye Pub. Now that was funky. The other thing on that block was an industrial laundry.
I fondly remember the skull and crossbones No Nukes mural across the street on the wall of what was recently The Gypsy. That was a funky welcome to Dickson Street.
It was Steve Barham, writing under a pseudonym in Nightflying who wrote:
"Dickson Street, is the street, where the freaks and Greeks can mingle, where the sweet hip chicks all meet at night, to talk that hip street lingo."
Condos and Cappuccinos are not funky.
