check out Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall and Mid Towne Antique Mall - they have a large
selection of vintage clothing - reasonably priced
What a generous attitude! I truly hope this was a one-time thing. I'm glad it was noticed; however, and the editor understands that at least I, as a reader, expect better journalistic practice.
No need at this point...it's been two years and many moons. They have great writers and I'm sure they'll do better from here, we hope.
Come on! This is flagrant plagiarism! If this is what your staff is up to, they are destroying your publication's journalistic credibility. Editor: You need to print an admission and an apology to the real author!
Wow... Just noticed the entire Dempsey section is swiped from my blog. This was written before the current guys, but no byline...
estate auction June 1st, 9:00 AM lots of vintage/antique items including clothing...https://www.facebook.com/Scenic7Auction
Lemon Jelly? I'm a BIG fan of Blue Cake Company's lemon curd, which is made in-house from scratch. Ditto the strawberry cupcakes which have bits of strawberries throughout. How can anyone possibly mistake a true curd for a "jelly"? Or strawberry for vanilla?
Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall - has two wonderful dealers of vintage clothing and accessories, including two booths with mens vintage clothing, another dealer has a showcase with military clothing also - open 7 days a week m-s 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays 11am to 5 pm - worth the drive on I30 frontage road in Bryant - just 15 mintures from I430 and I630 in Little Rock
Steven, I'm sorry you're upset about the Blue Cake review. I'll try another cupcake there sometime and maybe post an update.., And this is one opinion, based on one cupcake which was, for the record, purchased right before closing...
A food editor should have some knowledge of food. If they can not describe what they are eating correctly or the contents correctly then their ignorance is dangerous. They should also review a variety of cupcakes rather than base their success or failure on one flavor. I have never been a fan of this writers reviews. Lacking to say the least!
Thank you for this list!
One thing Little Rock (and really all of Arkansas) does not do well is cornbread. It's amazing how people can take something that's really not difficult to make and fuck it up as much as local restaurants do.
The Dairy Bar in Lonoke has my favorite.
What about The Spot on Arch Street? Great ice cream, esp chocolate.
Thanks for the recommendation, Rachel! There are many places that qualify for such a great list, that just don't make the determination "Central Arkansas." For instance, Sodie's in Flippin, Newton's Pharmacy in Russellville and the Ozark Cafe in Jasper would make an all-Arkansas list. I will investigate.
Don't forget the Spring Dipper in Mammoth Spring! Over 20 flavors of handmade ice cream with seasonal flavors!
I'm tempted by Asher Dairy Bar every time I go to the farm supply store. I'll have to make a stop soon.
1620 is my favorite brunch in town.
Thanks for doing this. I've been looking for a good list of brunch ideas for after church on Sundays...I've just been figuring it out myself, but now I have a few more places to try. The only other one that I've tried that I didn't see on here is Bosco's and The Purple Cow. They both have GREAT brunch options!
