And you think LR is dangerous?

Posted By on Thu, Apr 27, 2006 at 1:53 PM

We're not sure this is the best way to respond to a sudden upsurge in LR's homicide rate, but this just in from the LR Police Department:

So far in 2006, there have been 52 homicides in Memphis, according to Memphis Police Department spokesman Sgt. Vince Higgins. That's a 41 percent jump compared to 37 by this time last year.

LR, you may recall has had "only" 25 homicides this year. Memphis is, however, more than three times as big as Little Rock, with a population of 650,000 in the 2000 Census against our 183,000.
