First lady in town

Posted By on Mon, May 1, 2006 at 6:06 PM

The first lady of Mexico, Marta de Fox, was in Little Rock today for an appearance at the Clinton School. of Public Service. She was greeted by Mayor Dailey, visited with Janet Huckabee and, according to a statement prepared for media back home, expressed her husband's commitment to women's rights. About those big marches around the country? Her careful words from the release:

When faced with questions regarding events being held in various parts of the United Stated by the migrants Hispanic community she stressed that as always she is respectful of institutional issues and that she adheres to the statements expressed by President Fox in favor of good sense and freedom of speech.
