Food fest

Posted By on Fri, May 12, 2006 at 4:43 PM

Other cities have annual food festivals (Chicago's comes to mind) and the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce announces today, in partnership with the Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon and Galchus law firm, a mini-version, the Taste of the Rock.

It won't be a multi-day event, but a 5 to 7 affair June 1 at the River Market Pavilions. A long lineup of the chamber's food and beverage members, from restaurants to caterers, will be dispensing eats. The cost will be $20 ($15 advance). All you can eat and drink.

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
