Feed the base

Posted By on Mon, May 15, 2006 at 9:30 AM

A mention of Karl Rove is a good time to mention the NY Times story this morning about how conservatives think Bush should bring the fervor of the Republican base back to the mid-term election. Answer: Gay marriage, obscenity and abortion.

OK, they care, too, about government spending, war and immigration, too, but only after the really important issues.

Really, if gay people would just stop insisting on a desire to live in loving family units, free of discrimination, all our national problems would be solved. Bill Frist is already on this case, by the way. Laura Bush, too.

In Arkansas, Asa! has already staked out abortion turf. The rest should follow, if not from Asa, from his running mate Jim Holt.
