Talk is cheap

Posted By on Sat, May 20, 2006 at 1:28 PM

Gov. Huckabee is still talking about tax rebates, though not really doing anything about it, the easiest course. (And, all things considered, better than doing it.) House Speaker Bill Stovall (goodness, how he'll be missed) is still talking sense:

"I don't know that those are extraordinary reasons to meet, that's up to the governor to decide, but I think it's premature," Stovall said. "I haven't seen any plan and I'm going to be open-minded, but I'm going to be very cautious and hesitant about giving some tax credits or tax rebates here three or four months before we get into a budget season."
