Told you so

Yesterday's nomination of Magistrate Robert Shepherd of El Dorado to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals to fill the seat that will be vacated by the retiring Judge Buzz Arnold wasn't a bolt out of the blue for Arkansas Blog readers. We reported he was the early front-runner Dec. 22. Wire to wire, as they say in horse racing.

He's liked by a bipartisan range of friends in El Do, we're told. Which leaves only one question: how did he pass the Bush vetting process, which seems to require right-wing extremism in judicial appointements?
