Yesterday’s nomination of Magistrate Robert Shepherd of El Dorado to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals to fill the seat that will be vacated by the retiring Judge Buzz Arnold wasn’t a bolt out of the blue for Arkansas Blog readers. We reported he was the early front-runner Dec. 22. Wire to wire, as they say in horse racing.
He’s liked by a bipartisan range of friends in El Do, we’re told. Which leaves only one question: how did he pass the Bush vetting process, which seems to require right-wing extremism in judicial appointements?
