Herzfeld to endorse Suskie? Duh.

Posted By on Thu, May 25, 2006 at 12:59 PM

Robert Herzfeld will join Paul Suskie for a press conference at 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Anyone care to guess what will be announced?

(Background: Herzfeld finished third in Tuesday's Democratic primary for attorney general. Suskie faces Dustin McDaniel in the June 13 runoff for that position. Herzfeld already said that he will not be endorsing McDaniel in the race.)

UPDATE: Yeah, he did.

What, you thought maybe they'd have a cage match?

Says McDaniel:

I know Paul and Robert have been friends for a long time, and they are both from Central Arkansas.  This comes as no surprise, and I know voters will make up their own minds when they step into the voting booth.

I am a progressive Democrat, and I believe my record of lowering the cost of prescription drugs and standing up for Arkansas families will resonate more with voters than any endorsement.

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
