Hillary stops thinking about tomorrow

Why is U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton suddenly engaging in generational warfare? Is she trying to appeal to conservatives by sounding like a frustrated geezer?

In remarks to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce convention recently, the senator from New York lashed out at young people who she said were growing up in a culture of instant gratification.

"They don't know what work is," she claimed. "They think work is a four-letter word."

There is plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise, from increased civic engagement among America's youth to the demands of the modern workplace.

But more to the point, these kinds of attacks ring pretty hollow coming from a Baby Boomer, since her generational compatriots were on the receiving end of similar complaints when they were young.

And considering that the Baby Boomers are screwing everything up for the rest of us, does she really want to go there?

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
