Riverfest: Opening night

It was a long week and we weren't in the partying mood. We escaped downtown just as traffic was building for the opening night of Riverfest. But Times photographer Brian Chilson dropped by, providing this shot of the flotilla that anchored on the Arkansas River to catch the waves of music. Here, too, is a snap from the Kool and the Gang performance.
