Republican victory

Posted By on Wed, Jun 7, 2006 at 5:46 AM

The Republican won Duke Cunningham's seat in California, but 49.5 percent in a bright-red district where registered Republicans outnumber Democrats 44 to 30 (and after nearly $5 million in spending) isn't exactly a vote of confidence in the Grand Old Party.

Imagine if John Boozman scores a  49.5-45 win this fall in the yellow-dog Republican Third District. It would  be a win. But an ugly one.
