Sweetheart deal

Posted By on Wed, Jun 7, 2006 at 7:39 AM

If you don't see the Democrat-Gazette, you have to check the excellent story in today's paper by Mark Minton on Asa Hutchinson's penny stock scam. Take bit of insider influence from days in the Bush administration, throw in a few more high binders, make a phone call or two and, shazam, Asa's stake -- nothing more than a paper pyramid -- is worth a million bucks. Oh. And by the way. Asa! "forgot" to report his million-dollar holding on his first financial disclosure form. That smell isn't roses.
