One kid at a time

Forget politics for a minute. Warm your heart with John Brummett's column on working with a kid in a public elementary school. And remember it every time somebody suggests that more standardized testing and a little bonus money for teachers and all will be well in the schools of America. The schools are millions of kids, too many from desperate circumstances and only a tiny percentage of those in greatest need lucky enough to have a little additional voluntary support.
