And the winner is ...

In the clear light of morning:

Statewide totals lack 33 precincts -- 32 of them in Saline County and 1 in Searcy County. The six precincts counted in Saline County give Paul Suskie a 600-vote lead in that county. So, a similar performance in the remaining Saline precincts could further narrow Dustin McDaniel's statewide lead of 3,165 votes in the race for attorney general.

Otherwise, in the Democratic runoff it remains Bill Halter for lt. gov. and Martha Shoffner for treasurer.

Elsewhere, the missing Saline boxes prevent a final call in a GOP runoff for state rep., where Kurt Hetherington is leading Dan Greenberg in a race that will decide who represents Rep. Jeremy Hutchinson's district next year.
