Who's a liberal?

Posted By on Sun, Jun 18, 2006 at 5:42 AM

Did Arkansas Democrats ratify a liberal ticket in last week's runoff? Republicans say so. Brummett says no, the choices reflect usual Arkansas voter eccentricity. Dustin McDaniel, who's "liberal" only because he's pro-choice in a careful sort of way, won the attorney general's race thanks to huge margins on home turf -- Craighead and Greene counties. Those same counties voted overwhelmingly for a bona fide cultural conservative, Tim Wooldridge, who lost the lieutenant governor's race to Bill Halter. From which point Brum beholds the Halter-Holt matchup.
