Trolling the Internet for presidential campaign news, I stumbled across the website of a “neo-Confederate.” He’s compiled the pros and cons of potential presidential candidates. A vote against John Ashcroft’s confirmation is a bad thing, for example, since he’s been friendly to the folks who believe a separatist South might rise again. I found this note on Gov. Huckabee:
Huckabee, Mike: Governor of Arkansas
1.As reported in the Citizen Informer, the official publication of the Council of Conservative Citizens, www.cofcc.org, Vol. 24, 1993 No. 3, page 1, as follows:
“Ark. Lt. Governor Mike Huckabee, unable to leave Arkansas by law because the Governor was absent from the state, sent a terrific videotape speech, which was viewed and extremely well received by the audience.”
Wouldn’t you like to see that video?
